MOSTYN FALCONS v
BEWDLEY TOWN COMRADES
28TH FEBRUARY
2009
HT 0 – 2
FT 0 – 4
Line – Up:
Jack Rogers, Tom Riley, Connor Payton, Ben Hyde (Ollie
Tarry), Danny Maiden, Tyler Fawkes (Ryan Giles), Shae McNally (Harry Field).
The Comrades produced another good result but more importantly
another superb performance! The lads yet again showed what a quality football side they can be on their day and whatever the
standard of opposition, they can pass & keep the ball beautifully.
The Comrades opening goal came from a corner, which was
great as this is an area that the whole team need to look to improve, Connor Payton headed in Danny Maiden’s weighted
delivery.
The second goal really was a picture, a move which began
deep in our own half, being passed by most of the players in the team with a maximum of two touches – with Tyler Fawkes
tidily finishing the move with his 21st goal this season.
Mostyn did have their moments and at times looked dangerous
on the counter attack, but Tom Riley & Connor Payton kept as cool as ever to ensure these attacks were wiped out.
A few changes occurred at half time and both Ryan Giles
& Harry Field (subs) got their names on the score sheet, Harry extended his total to 22 for the season with his fifth
goal in his last three matches. Ryan Giles scored a left-footed volley from range which made his afternoon and made the score
4-0 to the Comrades.
Another very satisfying performance giving the lads confidence
going into the latter stages of the season....
Keep it up Comrades!!
